Review: Our staff here at Sherwood Manor work hard to give good care to all our residents. We do not have memory care. I have worked here here for 20 years. When the times comes if I need to place my loved one in a nursing home this would be my first choice.

Review: Terrible place to work. Under paid, short staffed & bare minimum treatment for residents, Leaving them soaked in urine & without showers. I was cussed out, threatened & followed to my car by a hostile CNA & I quit. Management is a joke, & so is the care they give. Don't waste your time.

Review: My husband has trauma induced dementia and requires 24 hour care. This place was asked by Advantage (state run Medicaid program) to take him for 30 days of respite care so I could take care of myself, so I could recover from caretaker burnout before I burn out completely. They agreed to keep him for 30 days. They only lasted 3 days. I have cared for him by myself, with no help from his own brother that lives nearby, for 21 months without a single break. They claimed they had a memory care facility, but most of the residents of the facility where either wheelchair bound or so mentally out of it that they did not require much observation. I was told that my husband was too much trouble because he was being "inappropriate" with their staff members (remember, he has dementia and is unaware of what is appropriate behavior and also unaware that he was not speaking with his wife because he can't remember who anyone is), would constantly raise the beds in other rooms, and would press the nurse call button when he was in the bathroom (after I had warned them not to let him have access to anything with buttons). I wish I had been able to take pictures of the inside of the building since the only ones posted on Google make the place look much cleaner than it actually is inside, but due to privacy laws I was restricted. The staff was too busy talking amongst themselves when I arrived to pick him up after the midday call telling me they would no longer keep him to ask me who I was there to visit. I could have just walked past the front desk and gone to his room for all anyone cared. I was told they would pack his things and ended up having to do it myself after waiting 20 minutes. They still managed to lose one of his t-shirts, a pair of socks and a pair of underwear even though he was just there for 3 days. Everything I sent with him had been boldly labeled to prevent such loss. Makes me wonder if he would have been naked by the end of the month if he'd been able to stay that long. If you have loved ones at this facility, please pay attention to whether they are receiving proper care. My husband drank 4 bottles of water within an hour of returning home, I don't think they were making sure he was staying hydrated. I don't even know if they fed him lunch today, his roommate had a tray and was eating lunch when I arrived, but I didn't see any empty trays in the room that would have been for my husband. I don't know what kind of care they actually did provide because they would call me throughout the day and have me talk to him to distract/redirect him after telling me not to call/visit for the 1st few days to allow him time to settle in. Would definitely not recommend sending someone you love to this place.

Review: Reported to the Ombudsman. My father was released here for skilled nursing by St John's last week. Less than 2 hours later Sherwood Manor told me to come get him because he was wandering and they can't staff someone who is getting up. They claimed they didn't know he gets up and walks around, but St John's sent all the information about him and I think they just didn't look at it. Two aides dumped him in my car and I received no plan, home health referral, discharge instructions, current med list, information on what meds they had already given, or any paperwork. I was given no time to prepare, just given my confused dad who'd had to move twice that day and needed nursing home level care.

Review: This place smells so terrible that I always had to hold my breath going down the hall. A nurse told my mother not to push the button so much when she needed help. My mom was here for rehabilitation, and the social worker provided no guidance on transition planning. It's a sad place, and I would not recommend you send your family there. The only positive was that the physical therapist was very helpful to my mom.
