Review: My mom was in Montereau for 20 days of skilled rehab. We took mom home on 14 Jan 2025. The shining star there is Lorie Sego (Hospitality coordinator). She has tons of empathy, is friendly and proactive. Lorie cares deeply about the patients. She gave our family her personal number and said to call day or night with issues. She meant it. We called her on & off duty, also on her weekends. Each time, she went way out of her way to help fix issues that are not in her lane. She has our deep respect and gratitude. She needs a raise! Lorie gets a 5 star review, the facility gets 3 stars.

Review: Montereau is a unique place. I am surrounded by a fabulous new family in a dream like uplifting atmosphere. Someone once told me it is like being on a cruise ship that does not leave port. I agree and I feel fortunate to be here. Marilyn Lehman

Review: I don’t know what has happened to Montereau skilled nursing over the last year or two. After my mother had a fall which broke her arm she went to Montereau skilled-nursing. It was great for a couple of days but quickly went downhill. On average my mother had to wait 45 minutes up to an hour and a half after hitting the nurse call button. They rarely checked on her and it got to the point that I was afraid if she fell in her room, she wouldn’t be discovered for hours and it is an understatement to say that her care during her stay was substandard. She started rapidly declining and I chose to have her discharged and brought her home with me and I’m caring for her with home health. Since taking her out Montereau skilled-nursing, I’ve heard at least 4 to 5 nightmare stories from other’s that have had loved ones in Montereau skilled-nursing. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see many patients sitting in wheelchairs, slumped over asleep in the halls. Save the heartache and the suffering of your loved one and really do your research before sending a loved one here.

Review: **Update: Montereau quickly responded to my Google review, but no surprise in the real, lack of response. I called the CEO as instructed, was routed to his voicemail, and left a message. I have never heard a peep......My mom recently had over a one month stay at Montereau's assisted living facility after a long hospital illness, and the experience was very mixed. The individuals that work here are excellent - therapists, nurses, etc. The grounds are beautiful. However, the overall support process and social services were completely nonexistent. This was in stark contrast from the experience we had just experienced while at St. Francis South. We arrived via their transport, however, there was no communication or anything from there. Once at Montereau we sat in her room for hours - no one said anything to us. Mom needed almost full assistance at that point - to/from the bathroom, etc. I ended up helping her each time because no one came when called. I wandered the halls, looking for help and asking questions. I think the floor staff hadn't been notified of or wasn't staffed for her arrival. I had to ask for a wheelchair to help me get her to/from the bathroom. When it was finally dinner time there had been no communication on food/where to go/etc. I got mom in a wheelchair and we found the dining room...everyone acted surprised to see her.It was a rough and stressful start. The next day mom had gotten sick and I needed help getting her to the shower to clean her up. Someone came in to do an assessment and started to help - which was great. She helped me get mom in the shower, asked some questions, but then left me alone in the shower with mom.Things did finally start to settle in as other therapists started coming by and nurses and assistants became aware of mom's presence and needs But we never got a proper walk through of how anything would work.We then had the same experience at discharge. Our family care (discharge) meeting was set for 10/29, which sounded great. We figured we would get a walk through of her next steps, instructions on exercises to do at home, things to expect, contact numbers for questions, etc. Normal things I would think. But then we were told she would actually be discharged on 10/22. Everyone kept saying we would hear from Carina (also the person responsible for the intake process that was non-existent and the person who said they would set up a neurologist appointment for mom but did not). Whenever we would ask questions, the answer was always that we needed to talk to Carina. But despite asking for her to contact us multiple times, we didn't hear anything from her until about 15 minutes before we decided to just leave and were walking out the door. Again, we had been asking - was there any checkout process? do we just walk out? how we do confirm what home health services are and when they will start? We had picked a service but hadn't been given any information on how that would work or what to expect. When Carina finally came by, luckily before we had left, she said everything was set up for home health and we would hear from them soon. Again, nothing in writing, no contact information to follow-up on, no education on how all of this works.Mom has been home now for 3 days, and there has been no contact. When I contacted the home health provider directly finally today, they said they don't cover this area and that Montereau had been notified. I've called Montereau to get something else scheduled and had to leave a message - not surprised there has been no response. So we were sent home with no ongoing support, and they haven't done anything to contact us or set anything different up.

Review: This place is a joke. I worked for them for three weeks in home care as a CNA, and the so-called supervisor, Rebecca, was very rude and unprofessional. They hired me part-time, but during those three weeks, they reduced my hours three times to give them to full-time employees. It seems like they believe people work just for the fun of it and that it’s acceptable to use individuals for their own convenience. What’s the point of hiring people if you don’t actually need them? It is unethical to take hours away from part-time employees to give to full-time staff. Everyone has responsibilities, and it’s clear they don’t care about their employees or the requests of their clients. During my time there, I had two clients who specifically requested me and their family members, yet my hours were still taken away to accommodate full-time staff.
