Review: This is not a retirement home like it says when you look it up. The main administrator the woman that is over the whole place was the nicest woman and the most caring and the most encouraging woman I ever met. She went beyond what her job called for to get my mom home with everything and she was happy for my mom that she was getting to go home while others tried to do everything to stop her from going home. And we don't know why because my mom is doing great at home. She's up walking with her walker and doing so so good. And I also want to give a shout out to the women that answer the phone especially Faye they are kind and courteous and do what they say they are going to do. But I personally wouldn't send my loved ones there just because the nursing staff was horrible except for 2 people. Leslie B.

Review: Our Mother was placed here from Hillcrest hospital. We went prior to her admission. Its a very old facility. It’s very dirty & smells awful. Unfortunately due to the urgency of placing Mom we were limited (per the social worker at Hillcrest) were to send her. We would go by every day. My brother went during the day and I went after work every evening. First getting the LPN on nights to do anything was a struggle. She just sat at the desk glaring at me over her computer was frustrating. Mom was on a two day per week shower schedule. The never got done. I work in the medical field for 37 years. I’d go in after a 10 hour shift and bath my Mom. The food was unrecognizable! They feed the residents high fat, starchy food. They always served punch juice with meals and lemonade which is high in acid. My Mom has GERD very bad so she couldn’t drink it. We had to bring her fruit and raw vegetables to eat. Her roommate wasn’t very nice and would tell us to be quiet when we visited her. I wouldn’t put my worst enemy here. The CNA’s at night were amazing to my Mom. I would give them small gifts as a thank you for all there health. The day aids were very rude to Mom and one even tossed her call button and hit her in the face. It’s a good thing we never crossed paths. I know the only way to get care for a loved one in a nursing is to show up at different times. They will make more of an effort to care for your loved one. I know it costs. Lot of money to care for patients. But keeping them clean, keep the facility clean, maintain the building. I knew the CNA’s have a horrible job, they get no respect. It’s a job I couldn’t do. All we asked was for our Mother be cared for. She’s 91 with dementia. She asks the same question a thousand times. She had a beautiful home to live in. She fell and broke 4 ribs getting up at 0400 to get something out of her closet and fell into her bookcase. She had to go there for rehab. We wanted our Mother with us. But there comes a time you can’t care for them. She wondered through the house at night. We put alarms on the doors. She swore the neighbors were singing gospel music to her trying to kill her. We would tell her we didn’t hear anything and she’d get angry. She badge into our room at all hours asking we’re here children were. The stories go on & on.Do your best to do the research to find a nice, safe place for your loved one. Leisure Village is a place where people go that have no family or friends to visit them. It’s heartbreaking seeing they had no one to visit them. Their clothes are so dirty. I’d go in and they’d have the same clothes on for days. So sad to see human being be treated so poorly.

Review: I live here...and this is the best nursing facility that I have ever lived in. Nurse aides are very attentive and kind making you feel like family. I am grateful to have lived here throughout the pandemic. They have made a tough situation so much more bearable. Please take it from someone that currently resides here...this is a great place to put your loved ones if you want them to feel safe and loved!

Review: My dad was there for a few weeks for short term therapy after he got out of the hospital. He's 82 and has many health problems. We had issues right from the start. The majority of the staff during the evenings, especially on the weekends are just rude and unattentive. The guy who came to transport my dad from the hospital brought a faulty oxygen tank that didn't work. When the nurse advised him that he needed a different tank because my dad couldn't go without oxygen, the man literally threw a fit and said he was NOT going to leave and get another one. The guy, after being verbally disrespectful to the nurse, while my father and were both there in the room, called his supervisor and she told him to come and get another tank. His attitude changed after that. There were several issues that I talked with the head of nursing as well as a few other employees during an assessment meeting, that were somewhat addressed. However, during the last week he was there, they lost several of my father's belongings including his top dentures, that were never recovered. I told several of the staff, including the laundry lady that I would be doing my father's laundry and yet they still continued to do it themselves resulting in several lost items. The last day he was there he told me that an employee, from the weekend evening shift had picked him up and threw him into his bed. This particular employee I had overheard being rude and yelling at several of the residents just a week or two before. I heard the entire incident. When confronted by a supervisor, she put total blame on the residents, which was a lie. I went to see my dad there almost every day that he was there. There were several times I had to go down there in the late evening because my dad could not get any assistance from the staff. I walked in on my father several times while he was just left there with an empty oxygen tank for no telling how long. He also started having anxiety attacks, which he hadn't had in a few years which I believe we're caused by them not providing him with any of his breathing medicine. Once I expressed my concerns with the head nurse, he did start recieving his medication. There was one younger lady there in the evenings that was always nice to my dad. The facility seemed to be way under staffed and several of the employees even told me that as well. I feel so bad for the residents there and no matter what, I will never allow my father to go back there. With the attitudes that several of the employees there have, they should not be in that line of work. My recommendation for anyone considering placing their loved ones there is DON'T DO IT. On a final note, some of the employees there do seem pleasant and even nice, when I was around. I know that elderly patients can be difficult at times but under No circumstances should they be treated with disrespect and rudeness like I overheard on many occasions.
